Tom's mom is Jessica, the most beautiful woman in the family. She works for a non-profit financial institution as a UNIX system administrator. Jessica is a city girl. She will not give up her New York state driver's license even though she has been living in Jersey for the past five years. A proud New Yorker! Her company is located on the 5th ave in Manhattan and she is comfortable taking the 4-hour daily commute to work in the city. Jessica holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and an MBA. Some say smart girls are typically not pretty, and they are just plainly wrong.

Jessica was married to Alex 4 years ago on the Mid-Autumn festival. Alex always wants a number of daughters but he is equally happy about Tom's arrival. Alex works for a major pharmaceutical company close to their house. Albeit a scientist, Alex believes in fortune cookies. :-) So this other day, Jessica and Alex went to a Chinese restaurant in Highland park. After the meal, the very friendly restaurant owner gave them 3 fortune cookies. The one Alex got said "you will be successful at work". Alex was not sure what that meant, because he was going to take a career change and he was not sure whether that was about his new legal career about which he was still clueless, or the current one as a scientist. But, to his delight, when he opened the one for Tom, it read "you will be a good lawyer". Oh, cool, what a pair! :-) Alex holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a Master's in Computer Science, and is working towards a JD degree. Does he think the more degrees the merrier, or is it just a typical life of a new immigrant in the US?

The addition of Tom brings about the new chapter in Alex and Jessica's life. Their life is filled with joy and expectation and they'd like everyone of share with them!
