Warming up for Tom and Kyle's 1st Christmas
Written by Alex
2006/12/03, Sunday

It's gonna be baby Tom and his buddy Kyle's first Christmas! Even though it is still about a month away, we have already started preparing for it. See, we have set up the Christmas, put on all kinds of ornaments, shopped for gifts and holiday dresses. Look at the beautiful tree, wrapped gifts and the socks! I was wondering whether Tom and Kyle will fight for presents? :-)

Check out the pre-Christmas gallery.

1st Thanksgiving
Written by Alex
2006/11/30, Thursday

Tom spent his first Thanksgiving at his buddy's house. Also there were three beautiful sisters. While Kyle refused to go to sleep so as to watch the pretty girls play, Tom hardly showed any interest. Does two months make such a big difference between Kyle and Tom, or is it just because they have different genes from their daddies? :-)

See the pictures at Kyle's Gallery.

Tom learned biology
Written by Alex
2006/11/29, Wednesday

The book says babies learn to smile at the 7th week. The day before Tom became 7 weeks, I was worried. He did smile occasionally, especially in the morning when his grandpa tickles him, but I did not have much success to do that when I come home at night. Was Tom really going to learn to smile just over night?

Yes, he did. From the moment he woke up on the Saturday morning  (he was born on a Saturday morning), he just kept smiling whenever he was "asked", nonstop smiling all the day! My goodness, how accurate the biology is, and Tom has learned it! :-) Well, maybe it is just because his father is a biologist. Anyways, a smiley boy, and a happy and proud daddy.

Tom is becoming a big boy
Written by Alex
2006/11/29, Wednesday

When Tom was 6 and a half weeks, we went to his pediatrician for a regular checkup. He weighed 11 pounds and 15 ounces and was 58.5 cm tall, therefore he was at the 75th percentile by weight and 90th by height. The first time he visited the pediatrician, he was at the 50th percentile by weight and 75th by length, so we were praised by the doctor for doing a good job - and actually Tom was the one who should receive the honor because he had been a very good boy. He almost never refused to eat and kept a good sleeping habit.

We hope he will reach the 90th percentile by weight and 95th by height when he visits the doctor again next month. Good job, Thomas!
