When Tom was 6 and a half weeks, we went to his pediatrician for a regular checkup. He weighed 11 pounds and 15 ounces and was 58.5 cm tall, therefore he was at the 75th percentile by weight and 90th by height. The first time he visited the pediatrician, he was at the 50th percentile by weight and 75th by length, so we were praised by the doctor for doing a good job - and actually Tom was the one who should receive the honor because he had been a very good boy. He almost never refused to eat and kept a good sleeping habit.
We hope he will reach the 90th percentile by weight and 95th by height when he visits the doctor again next month. Good job, Thomas!

When Michael called and told me he was on the way to deliver to me some fish he just caught on the sea, I was filling our bath tub with hot water. Then when he arrived with lots of black seabass and lynn, and asked how Tom was doing, I told him that Tom was swimming. Tom is swimming? Michael seemed surprised and without invitation, he went straight upstairs to see how Tom was swimming. Yes, the little 40-day old Thomas was swimming in our bathtub, and he was not just floating in the water, he was literally swimming! :-)

On the day when Tom was one month old, his mom and grandpa went to the Rutgers Nursery to shop for a baby tree for Tom. We've always thought it would be a great idea that when we have a baby, we plant a tree for him/her, so that they can grow together. When the baby gets bigger, he will be happy to see that the tree is also becoming taller. When he/she is old enough to leave the family, we will still have the tree to be with us, to comfort our loving but lonely hearts.

There is just so much love for Tom. When he is 5 weeks, lots more friends come to see him with lots of wonderful gifts. Lucky little one!
Alex's long time friends Lubing and Cindy just came back from China for a short stay. They were actually the first to know of Jessie's pregnancy outside of the immediate family members. They have long taken good care of both Jessie and Alex in the past and now again they brought their love to te little Tom.
