It was explained in an earlier post that Thomas had not enjoyed playing in his little swimming pool since he started crawling because he was too limited in that little space. But we still believe that babies like water so we decided to bring him to the real swimming pool in our community. Today is a perfect day, bright, warm, relaxing, and Thomas was in a good active mood.
As expected, Tom was a little scared of the relatively cold water in the pool, and he started to cry the moment he entered the water. So we took him out and poured some water on his arms and belly to make him used to it. Soon enough, he started to have some real fun! (Check out the gallery)
Interestingly enough, baby Kyle also had his first swimming experience yesterday, check out the post on his website: http://coldcloud.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=122

Breaking news: Thomas and Kyle are having a vacatoin together! Over the weekend after July 4th, Kyle's and Family and we drove up to Lake George and stayed there for 2 days. For the daddies, the best part was of course the daily tennis games. Even though Lake George is a popular destination for kids, Tom and Kyle did have a good time. Cruising on the lake was the highlight of the trip (see the pictures) where both babies showed some interest in interacting with each other.

Thomas is finally a "free man" after one day he suddenly learned to crawl. Grandma says crawling is the most important stage for a baby because it helps with coordination whereas walking helps with strength and balance. I believe that is true. We wont be pushing him to stand up and walk, but we did want him to crawl well and start it early. For himself, he is a lot happier when he can crawl.
Before Thomas started to crawl, his favorite activity was "swimming" because, I believe, he feels more free in the water since he can move around, kick and jump. But now, he seems to hate his little swimming pool. I guess the freedom in the swimming pool is just so not comparable to the freedom on the floor. See the excitement (gallery).
